Acts 5:14
Yet more and more people believed and were brought to the Lord—crowds of both men and women.
Life Lesson
Today’s word (Word Of Reflection Daily) begins after Ananias and wife Sapphira sell some property and attempt to deceive the apostles, test the Spirit of the Lord and lie to God. It begins also as the apostles perform many miracles and as believers meet regularly at the temple.
In meditating over today’s passage the thought which comes to mind is wondering if many believers today are missing the point. Seeking/attending a church for the wrong reason(s). Perhaps seeking/attending a church known to have a great speaker. Maybe, a church with professional musicians & stellar singers. It might also be because of beautiful facilities and the many and diverse programs. Or, quite possibly a church with bright lights which perform funny skits and entertaining dance. Instead of seeking/attending a church because of the integrity of the pastor, pastoral staff, elders and leaders or seeking/attending a church which is known more for a generous, kind, sincere, honest, friendly, caring, forgiving, Spirit-directed, serving, relationship oriented and loving church family.
Hence, my take away today is to pray that churches today get back to basics. To seek to advance the kingdom as it was done before in bible times. Not just with newer and more stimulating programs, not just with better and more entertainment value, not just with newer and fancier facilities and not just with better and funnier speakers. So when adding new believers it will be for the long-haul rather than for temporal, short-lived and fleeting enjoyment.

Yes so true! And as they say not all that glitter is not gold. And you know different strokes for different folks:) Wherever we are being fed and where the Lord speaks to us I say that is maybe where we should be, at least for that season:)
