Acts 12:15
“You’re out of your mind!” they said. When she insisted, they decided, “It must be his angel.”
Life Lesson
Today’s word (Word Of Reflection Daily) begins after King Herod has apostle James (John’s brother) killed and Peter arrested/imprisoned. It begins also after the Lord sends an angel to help him escape, saving him from Herod.
In pondering over today’s word the thought which speaks loudest to me is sometimes we go through the motion when praying. Perhaps not believing. Maybe having very little faith. Or possibly a little or a lot of both. Not believing or believing enough our God is available, not believing or believing enough our God is able, not believing or believing enough our God is capable and not believing or believing enough God does answer prayers for those seeking his will. Moreover, often times our response is one of surprise, bewilderment, astonishment and perhaps even unbelief when instead in faith we should be grateful, appreciative and thankful. Verse 16 affirms this by saying when Peter arrives at the home of Mary, “…When they finally opened the door and saw him, they were amazed.”
Hence, my take away today is found in Matthew 19:26 which is a timely and relevant reminder that “…“Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”” Furthermore, Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

Reminds me of the one about praying for rain, but not carrying an umbrella:)
