Acts 13:50
Then the Jews stirred up the influential religious women and the leaders of the city, and they incited a mob against Paul and Barnabas and ran them out of town.
Life Lesson
Today’s word (Word Of Reflection Daily) begins as Paul and Barnabas speak boldly turning from the Jews to Gentiles in sharing the Good News. Saying in Verse 46, “…“It was necessary that we first preach the word of God to you Jews. But since you have rejected it and judged yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we will offer it to the Gentiles.”
In meditating over today’s passage the thought which comes to mind is to listen when God speaks. To do so like the Gentiles wherein Verse 48 says, “When the Gentiles heard this, they were very glad and thanked the Lord for his message; and all who were chosen for eternal life became believers.” Why? Like the jealous Jewish leaders who slandered, stirred up opposition and ran Paul and Barnabas out-of-town, if not mindful we too might reject truth when in fact we should do just the opposite. Where we should instead accept it and therefore allow it to affect, change and transform us. Wow, just imagine for us believers if we had missed out on life’s most important decision.
Hence, my take away today is when confronted with God’s truth remembering to do as the Gentiles did. Specifically, to hear, be glad, be thankful, accept and believe.

Thank you brother Ken!
