Acts 18:9
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him,“Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent!
Life Lesson
Today’s word (Word Of Reflection Daily) begins after Paul meets and stays with Aquila and his wife Priscilla who were also tent makers. It begins also as he stays with Titus Justus, a Gentile who worships God and lives next to the synagogue.
In meditating over today’s passage the thought which comes to mind is when God speaks, are we really listening? In reflection, this reminds me of times baby sitting my grand-daughter. She truly is a blessing from God. A bundle of joy who just made one (1) on January 30th of this year. My very first and only grand child, who began walking between month 11 and her birthday. Now, while she understands when we speak to her, we all have been anxiously waiting for to start talking back to us. Well, I mean not talking back just talking
. And guess what, she actually has been. We just haven’t really been listening very well. To my amazement, while viewing and viewing and viewing some more a short minute video of her on my iPhone this weekend, I listened to it a bit more carefully than usual. To be exact I think I watched and listened to the video second by second. And, to my surprise I discovered she actually does speak. What sounded initially like mumbling gibberish were indeed spoken words in kind of a baby talk. After really listening attentively and with purpose, I was amazed to hear her say several words such as, “my turn”, “dragonfly”, “hummingbird”, “bird” and “here”.
Hence, my take away today is to use this life lesson in my walk with God. To be more attentive to God. More like Paul who heard the Lord speak and in Verse 11 says, “So Paul stayed there for the next year and a half, teaching the word of God.” To be mindful that often times it is not that God isn’t speaking to us. Rather, it’s that we don’t hear Him because just maybe we are not really listening.

cool : )
Bless you brother Ken!
