Acts 27:3
The next day when we docked at Sidon, Julius was very kind to Paul and let him go ashore to visit with friends so they could provide for his needs.
Life Lesson
Today’s word (Word Of Reflection Daily) begins as Paul and several other prisoners, under custody of captain Julius of the Imperial Regiment, set sail for Rome.
In pondering over today’s passage the thought which comes to mind is what are we like up close and personal. Are we respected and trusted like Paul? A prisoner who seem to enjoy a surprising amount of independence and freedom. As mentioned, he was allowed to freely visit friends. The bible doesn’t explicitly say but it does appear Paul did so unsupervised. Moreover, Paul, had every opportunity to (but did not) take advantage of the situation. He could have escaped or perhaps sought help from friends to overtake the ship and mutinied. Despite the opportunity and many possibilities, Paul instead showed honestly, sincerity and integrity. Thus, receiving respect and trust he rightfully earned and deserved from the Captain.
Hence, my take away today is remembering to self check myself often and as necessary. To see myself up close and personal especially alone. And, when no one else is looking and mask removed, to hopefully see someone honest and sincere with integrity and deserving of trust and respect as Paul.

Good message Wes : )
Thank you brother Ken!
