Luke 18:7
Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
Life Lesson
Today’s word (Word Of Reflection Daily) begins with Jesus’ parable of the persistent widow. An illustration for His followers as Verse 1 says to, “…show that they should always pray and never give up.”
In meditating over today’s passage the thought which comes to mind is if a judge “who neither fears God nor cares about people” as mentioned in Verse 2 relents to constant asking and continuous intimidation how much more willing, able and capable is our forever loving God to also respond to us in-kind and more. Moreover, today’s story reminds me of a time my sons took karate many years ago. Before physical training began, their instructor (teacher or sensei) would ask them/students to recite school (dojo) precepts. Precepts for the purpose of cultivating the mind as well as to strengthen the physical body. The one dojo precept in particular is “try hard and never give up”. For which, in reflection, is so appropriately similar to Jesus’ intention for his disciple where in Verse 1 He says to them, “…that they should always pray and never give up.”
Hence my take away is remembering for prayer, like in that dojo precept, to ” try hard and never give up”. Moreover, to remember, know and believe He loves us. So much so that if we are persistent, consistent and constant in prayer that He will hear our pleas & cries for help and be with us always.
Lord help please : )
Amen Ken!
