1 Peter 4:10
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
Life Lesson
Today’s word (Word Of Reflection Daily) talks about living for God. About being ready to suffer as Christ did, no longer joining friends in wicked things and showing deep love for others. It is here wherein Peter also talks about using our God-given gifts.
In meditating over today’s passage the thought which comes to mind and speaks to my heart is to find/know our gifts (given by the Holy Spirit). And, to use them. Moreover, to use them not for self or selfish reasons. Rather, realizing with these gifts we are now equipped, armed and ready, if compliant, obedient and willing, to use them for His glory in serving. Whether it is the gift of wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, performing miracles, prophecy, spiritual discernment, speaking in tongues and/or interpretation. Furthermore, to realize and know as 1 Corinthians 12:11 says, “It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.”
Hence, my take away today is remembering to learn and discern as well as the purpose of the gifts Christ gave to you and to me as believers (the body of Christ). As Ephesians 4:12 says, “…to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.”
