On today’s outing we are on a 28-foot boat called the Connie B. Deep sea trolling in the Mariana Trench off of Saipan. Despite the ocean being quite rough, we still had so much fun in the sun catching lots of mahi mahi and aku or skip jack tuna.

Round 2…rematch of battle between man and another nice sized “Blue Fin Trevally”, also known in Hawaii as Omilu while whipping off the Island of Yap in Micronesia. This time on a G. Loomis HS1021 Suzawa Custom Rod.  Here’s sharing another blessing from Hari Kojima which was to take me along on one more of their many exciting and exotic adventures to the South Pacific. On another trip, I was again blessed by good friend Hari Kojima who took me along on a skin diving adventure for elusive 20-25 pound spiny lobsters. This time to the South Pacific island place called “Isle of Pines” in “New Caledonia”. Which is a hidden gem, known for sweeping untouched white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and colorful lagoons. Please enjoy this sequence of very fond memories, with more to come later…

Catching mahi mahi on a boat rod matched with a conventional reel can be exciting. However on a trip to the Island of Yap in Micronesia, I found catching them on light spin tackle to be even more exhilarating.
